Spent some time today cleaning up a lot of unused apps and domains on my vps. It was pretty easy with YunoHost through the dashboard. I moved some services around to other domains and simplified a lot of stuff. I think I may be able to reduce the size of my server now that there is less stuff running.

Big storm last night. It was initially supposed to hit us around 10pm but was really slow moving and took until about 12:50am to get going. At least that’s when it woke me up because I fell asleep waiting for it. I did stay up and watch the lightning and wind for almost an hour before it was passed us and started to calm down. I would have preferred it been earlier in the night but I guess I shouldn’t complain.

Common Side Effects

Watched the first episode of Common Side Effects today. It was free on YouTube. Really enjoyed it. I’m a big King of the Hill and Mike Judge fan. Looks like the first couple episodes are available on the Adult Swim app but I’ll need to wait for a while on new episodes to become available. It I can pay for a month of HBO Max. But there’s nothing else is watch on there right now so probably just suck it up and deal with the delayed free releases on Adult Swim.

It is really cool being able to write directly from my browser. This definitely lends itself well to smaller, quicker posts while not at a computer. For longer form stuff I think I’ll probably stick with vim or a dedicated markdown editor. But I’m really pleased with this.

Made some more updates to the web editor created for writing content for this blog. One of the big changes was going from a simple `textarea` to using the medium-editor node module. This is the first official, non-testing post I’m creating from it. The experience is pretty nice. I don’t need a lot features but having some simple formatting and syntax highlighting type options is nice. I was originally planning on using editorjs but saw that Dave Winer was using medium-editor for WordLand so I figured I’d give it a shot.

This is a test from a new webapp I created to write markdown and save it to my blog directory on my VPS. Hopefully this will make it a bit easier to publish content. Since I updated the blog to have the Hugo server running and watching and rebuilding when new content is created, I figured it would be a good time to have a way to get new content out there from a browser.

Updated my Yunohost deployment of my blog today to include a systemd.service file that runs hugo server with some options to automatically rebuild my site. Previously I was manually building each time I made a change. This worked fine but seemed like an unnecessary step. I also was missing out on a really nice feature of Yunohost which monitors the status of the service defined as well as the logs for that service.

Turns out the library wont have a copy of Nemesis for a little while longer. Gives me a bit more time to finish Wool (which I’m really enjoying)
